Admissions Criteria

Medical Center Nursery School is open to children aged two through five years.

Children should be able to participate in the activities of a regular, developmental early childhood program. All children must have a physical examination, and required immunizations before the date of entrance. 

Admissions Process

Parents should complete and submit the application along with a $60.00 Application Fee. Following receipt of the application, Tricia, the Director, will send an email to arrange an individual family tour of the facility.

As a member of the Independent School Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY), MCSN follows the ISAAGNY Principals of Good Practice during the admissions process.

Admissions Decisions

Medical Center Nursery School follows the notification dates determined by ISAAGNY. General admissions applications received by January 11, 2024 will receive notification February 29, 2024. Parent responses are due March 7, 2024. After that date, MCNS will continue to accept applications for enrollment while spots remain open.

Early Notification

Families with siblings and/or those currently affiliated with Columbia University/CUMIC have the option of participating in an early notification process. If a qualifying family chooses to be included in the early decision process, applications must be submitted by Friday, November 17, 2023. Financial Aid applications must also be submitted by November 17, 2023. Acceptance notifications will be delivered on December 8, 2023. Parents must respond by noon on Friday, December 15.
